当初はリリーススケジュールさえ組み込まれていなかったものの、地元ボストンやニューヨーク
をはじめとするイーストコースト周辺のＦＭステーションにリクエストが
殺到、米コロンビア側があわててシングルカットに踏み切るに及んで
とうとう全米ヒットチャート第５９位（以下、すべてのチャート順位は米ビルボード参照）
まで上昇するという、あまりにも痛快なエピソードを残す。
’７５年１２月には第８弾シングルとして再発、
その作品自体が癒すドラマティックな抒情性が正当に評価されてか、こちらは
めでたく最高第６位をマークするビッグヒットを達成し、彼らの人気を
世界的に決定づける。
オールマンブラザーズバンドらを手がけたエイドリアンバーパーの
プロデュースにより、ボストンのインターメディアサウンドにて
録音された、’７３年１月リリースのデビューアルバム「野獣生誕」
に収録。勿論、スティーブンタイラー作。
みずみずしい初期の代表作で惜しくも全米トップ１００入りは逃すものの
これまた当時、イオーストコーストエリアでは大いにもてはやされる。
わずかにアリスクーパーとのコラボレーションを通して、多少その名が知られる程度だったのが
ジャックダグラスかレイコルコードのサポートを得て、いよいよ本格的に
プロデュースへと乗り出した、
’７４年３月リリースの通算２作目のアルバム「飛べ！エアロスミス」のオープニング
ナンバーでもあり、おなじみニューヨークのレコードプラントにて録音、
スティーブンタイラーとジョーペリーの共作。
ファンタジックなヴォーカルハーモニー、さらにはエンジニアのジェイメッシーナが
奏でるベースマリンバ等、凝った手法を駆使して、ファンキーな音の広がりを
生み出すことに成功している。彼らが初めてプロモーションフィルムなる代物を
制作したのもこの作品。

「ドリームオン」同様、その最初のリリースでは単なるローカルヒットの域に留まるものの、
翌’７６年１１月に第１１弾シングルとして再発されて以来、じわじわと全米チャートを
昇り詰め、結果的に最高第１０位をマーク。シャープ、かつトライなギターリフを
幾重にも積み上げた重圧なバンドアンサンプルに淫猥この上ない詩的表現をちりばめた、まさに
エアロスタイルの真髄が楽しめる。

以上２作品は、いずれもジャックダグラスのプロデュースにより、ニューヨークの
レコードプランにて録音された。
’７５年４月リリースの通算３作目のアルバム「闇夜のヘビィロック」
（最高第１１位）に収録。
ヴォーカルパートが放つ豊かな表現力、あるいは、卓越した作品構成力など、
バンド自体の著しい成長ぶりをダイレクトに伝える佳曲として、広く親しまれた。
スティーブンタイラーとブラッドウィットフィードの共作。
彼らの全作品中、最も傑出したハードロライビング感覚満点のヘビーロックンロールチューンで
メンバー自身が好んでコンサートのオープニングナンバーに用いていたのも
十分うなずける。スティーブンタイラーとジョーペリーの共作。
以上２作品は、いずれも、ご存じジャックダグラスとエアロスミスのプロデューサーによる、
最高傑作の誉れ高き通算４作品目のアルバム、すなわち、
ナチュラルなライブ風の臨場感を演出すべく、なんとマサチューセッツは
ウォルサムのとある倉庫を拠点に録音されたという、
’７６年５月リリース「ロックス」（最高第３位）に収録。
肌を突き刺す緊張感の中に、大いなる自信とゆとりが脈々と波打ち、煽動的なリフと
うなりを上げるスライドギターとの絶妙なコンビネーションが織りなす、
圧倒的な音の壁は、あの「カリフォルニアジャム２」の汗と熱気を
まざまざと喚起せずにはおかない。
スティーブンタイラーとジョーペリーの共作。
透き通るようにメロディアスな旋律を携えたドラマティックな作品展開、
加えてジャックダグラスの手によるマンドリンやポールブレストンがくり出す
バンジョーの調べまで取り入れた、あたかもブリティッシュハードロックを彷彿さえる
壮大なサウンドプロダクションが意表をつく、とてつもない異色作として
当時、賛否両論を巻き起こす。
トムハミルトン、ジョーイクレイマー、スティーブンタイラー、ブラッドウィットフォード、
そして、ジャッグダグラスというソングライティングチームの顔振れから、
ジョーペリー脱退近しのニュアンスをくみ取るファンも多かった。
以上２作品は、ジャッグダグラスとメンバー自身のプロデュースにより、
ニューヨークのセナクル城とレコードプラントにて録音された。
ひとつのピークというべき’７７年１２月リリースの通算５作目のアルバム
「ドロー・ザ・ライン」（最高第１１位）に収録。
ジョンレノン＆ポールマッカートニーのペンによる、言わずと知れた
ザ・ビートルズの’６９年１１月の全米Ｎｏ．1ヒット（イギリスでは第４位）で、
極めてオリジナルに忠実なアレンジが印象的。
ジャッグダグラスと共に、おどろくなかれザ・ビートルズの影の立役者たるあの
オージマーティンまでがプロデュース陣にその名を連ねており、
新たな解釈に基づくビートルズナンバーのカバーばかり集めた、
ピーターフランプトン主演による’７９年の映画「サージェントペパーズロンリーハーツクラブバンド」の
サントラ盤にも収録。だが、しだいに不動の地位を築き上げるに至った
ジャッグダグラスがチープトリックやスターズらの制作にもかかわりを持つようになった
ことが災いしてか、この作品を最後にエアロスミスとの水も漏らさぬ
鉄壁のコラボレーションにも一応のピリオドが打たれることとなった。
勿論、オリジナルは、’６０’Ｓガールグループの最高峰、我が愛すべき
ザ・シャングリラスが’６４年９月から１０月にかけて全米チャート第５位
（イギリスでは第１４位）までランクアップさせた忘れ得ぬデビューヒット。
彼女らを筆頭に、ヴァニラファッジやニューヨークドールズなどを一躍
スターダムへと押し上げた、アメリカンポップス屈指の名プロデューサー、
ジョージ・“シャドウ”・モートンがわずか１２分で書き上げた作品との逸話も
残っている。失恋の悲しみをかつてふたりで仲むつまじく歩いた浜辺の想い出へと
馳せる内容にちなんで、波のざわめきやカモメの鳴き声等を効果的に用いた
オリジナルヴァージョンに対し、ここではスティービンタイラーの悲痛なまでの
絶叫を大きくフィオーチュアフォリナーやＵＦＯ、ＧＦＲやハンブルパイらを
手がけたこともあるゲイリーライオンズのプロデュースにより、
ボストンのメディアサウンドとニューヨークのレコードプラントにて録音。
’７８年１１月の通算６作目のアルバム「ライブブートレッグ」（最高第１３位）をはさんで、
翌’７９年１２月にリリースされた、オリジナルラインアップとしてのファイナルアルバム
「ナイトインザラッツ」（最高第１４位）のハイライトを成す。

The band was a pioneer in the early American new wave and punk scenes of
the mid-70s,
developing their sound in famous NYC clubs such as CBGBs.
With hits such as "Atomic","Call me ","Heart of glass",and"Maria"as well
as sales of over 40 million records worldwide,
they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
